Sash Windows Repair, Renovation, and Replacement.

Welcome to Sliding Sash Solutions. Established in 1999, during which time we have developed and perfected our own unique design registered products for the repair, servicing and upgrading of traditional sliding sash windows. Without altering your original windows or their appearance, we can upgrade them to be significantly more efficient than ever before.

The Problems in Performance

Glazed windows were designed to provide three basic requirements; light, ventilation, and views. Sliding sash windows tick all the boxes with the addition of being aesthetically pleasing to the eye and interesting in their various shapes, sizes, and details.

Their only downfall is their performance. Due to necessary tolerance gaps, they can often let in lots of cold draughts and provide poor insulation with warm air heading straight out of the gaps around the window! They can be difficult to open and close and often rattle in the wind. Some are sealed shut from years of painting and others just difficult to open and close.

Our Solution

At Sliding Sash Solutions we have developed and perfected our own unique design registered products for the improvement of your windows.

Without altering your original windows or their appearance, we can upgrade them to be significantly more efficient than ever before.

Whenever we upgrade existing sash windows all of the products contained in the Solutions Brush Pile System™ are our own proud design registered products that are exclusive to Sliding Sash Solutions and are not retailed. We do not use double-sided taped extrusions to carry our brush piles as they do not stand the test of time. We do not use plastic parting beads as they can have an enormous effect on the appearance of traditional period windows.

We pride ourselves on having a proactive approach to conservation.

As many homeowners may know, properties that are in a conservation area will be subject to certain restrictions when it comes to carrying out work and renovation.

A conservation area is simply an area that is considered worthy of being preserved due to important architectural or historical interest. Buildings that fall within the boundary of the area will be protected by law against any unauthorised work being carried out on them. In order to complete work, homeowners will need to apply for consent from their local authority who will assess the project, and the products being used within it, to ensure that they maintain the period aesthetic of the area.

Many homeowners are unaware of these restrictions and can fall foul of the system. Unauthorised work carried out on a building within a conservation area can result in an unlimited fine. Thus finding products that have previously been approved for use in these areas can help you to stay on the right side of the law and avoid any costly legal challenges. At Sliding Sash Solutions, we always recommend that you get all of the necessary permissions before we carry out any work on your windows or doors, and can help you with this process should you require our assistance.
